About me
Hi, I’m Jeanette Houghtelling, DNP, PMHNP-BC. I’m a doctorally prepared, board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to helping people find emotional well-being. I offer comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and psychotherapy, along with guidance on lifestyle practices that support mental health. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Montana State University and my Bachelor and Associate of Science in Nursing degrees from Pacific Union College. With more than three decades of experience in diverse healthcare settings including inpatient adult and adolescent psychiatry and adult medical-surgical nursing, I bring a compassionate, integrative approach to supporting individuals navigating mental health challenges.
My commitment to trauma-informed care is supported by extensive training, including advanced certificates from the Allender Center in trauma-focused narrative therapy and a counseling certificate from Concordia University Irvine’s Townsend Institute. These specialized programs have equipped me to work effectively with individuals navigating a wide range of challenges—including trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, and life transitions—in both individual and group settings.
In my free time, I can be found wandering the nearby mountains, hanging out with friends and family, or trying yet another variation of my sourdough recipe.
